AMMAN — The State Security Court (SSC) has issued a warning to 24 defendants involved in various crimes to turn themselves in or be considered fugitives.

In an SSC announcement published on Thursday as an advertisement in Al Rai daily, the defendants were given 10 days to turn themselves in.

The announcement, signed by SSC President Brig. Gen. Samih Majali, said that after the 10-day period is over, the defendants will be considered fugitives and their assets will be frozen.

The judge directed all Public Security Department personnel to arrest them on sight, urging any civilian who knows of their whereabouts to come forward, according to the advertisement.

Moreover, any action or pledge taken by the defendants after the 10-day period will be considered invalid.

Twenty-three of the defendants are Jordanians and one is Palestinian.

One is accused of committing terrorist acts by using explosives, and two are charged with deliberately using fake bank currency, while the rest face drug-related charges, including selling narcotic substances or possessing them with the intention of trade, according to the announcement.
