Royal Jordanian Air Force ready to operate an air bridge for transporting aid to Gaza — JAF

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Sunday said that the Royal Air Force is ready to establish an air bridge carrying aid to Gaza in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation.

JAF media Director, Brig. Gen. Mustafa Hiyari said that there is aid "ready to dispatch" once access to Gaza is possible.

In an interview on Jordan TV, Hiyari said that 182 doctors and nurses at the Jordan field hospital are doing their humanitarian duty in Gaza. He confirmed that the field hospital continued operating in the past two days despite loss of communication and lack of medical supplies.

Hiyari said that "the efforts of the armed forces are targeted by a disinformation campaign”, referring to alleged reports circulated on social media claiming that the US is using Jordanian army bases to deliver American ammunition for Israel's offensive on Gaza. He said that such false reports aim to weaken the domestic front and fragment the internal social fabric.

"Not a single bullet was sent to the Israeli army from Jordanian airports" Hiyari said, adding that “we count on the awareness of the Jordanians not to spread such rumours and to obtain information only from its source".

Hiyari also added that Jordan do not host any US military bases, noting that there are groups that train JAF's personnel, in addition to upgrading and maintenance of JAF's arsenal and equipment.

He highlighted that drones used to traffic drugs have become a threat that JAF is facing at the borders and we have requested from the US an anti-drones system.
