Princess Dana attends closing ceremony of cultural heritage programme at Yarmouk University

AMMAN — HRH Princess Dana Firas, President of the National Association for the Preservation of Petra and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Heritage, attended the closing ceremony of the training programme "Enhancing Cultural Heritage – Our Heritage" at Yarmouk University on Sunday.

HRH Prince Hashim Bin Firas also attended the closing ceremony, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Princess Dana emphasised the importance of the partnership between the Terra Sancta Association in Jordan, the Jordan Museum, and Yarmouk University in executing the programme, which contributes to preserving Jordanian cultural heritage, ensuring its continuity, and passing it on to future generations.

The National Association for the Preservation of Petra is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation established in 1989, aimed at protecting cultural heritage and providing the best solutions and services related to it in Jordan and throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Since the launch of the education and awareness programme in 2009, the association has engaged effectively with thousands of children and young people across Jordan and the region, fostering their sense of belonging and pride in their heritage, and their duty to protect it.

Princess Dana pointed out that Jordan is the homeland of the monotheistic religions, where prophets have walked, and where humanity, despite its diverse beliefs and rituals, has coexisted and built its values on justice, mercy, and equality.
