AMMAN — The Jordan Society for Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship and Creativity (JSSR), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), on Sunday launched the National Biodiversity Network (NBN) project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

JSSR President Rida Khawaldeh said that the project aims at collecting and updating information related to biodiversity activities undertaken by national institutions and local communities in the Kingdom, which contribute to monitoring threats and challenges facing biodiversity and provide opportunities to protect it and sustain its components.

During a workshop held at the JSSR, Khawaldeh noted that the project serves as a national networking platform for stakeholders, including relevant governmental and non-governmental institutions.

UNDP Regional Representative Anas Khasawneh highlighted the importance of the Jordan-UNDP partnership and the programme’s continued support towards entrepreneurial projects, stressing the vitality of the project in attaining sustainable development goals.
