AMMAN — The Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LTRA) Director-General Abdul Rahim Al Wreikat on Sunday lauded the Cabinet’s decision to extend providing fuel subsidies, worth JD6 million, to public transport vehicles for the next three months, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The decision coincided with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan, in order to avoid raising transport fees for more than 1,000,000 daily public transport users benefitting from 11,000 modes of transport, as well as to mitigate the repercussions of the global rise of fuel prices on transport operators.
