Jordan welcomes killing of Al Qaeda leader Zawahiri

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday welcomed the US announcement of the killing of the leader of Al Qaeda terrorist group, Ayman Al Zawahiri, in Afghanistan on Monday.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Haitham Abu Al Foul said that the killing of Al Qaeda leader sends a powerful message that there is no safe place for terrorism and terrorists, according to a ministry statement.
The ministry noted that terrorism is a common enemy, stressing that Jordan will continue to work with its partners in counterterrorism to fight organisations that target innocent people and undermine security and stability.
The ministry emphasised the importance of the international community's efforts to root out terrorism.
