AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday condemned the continued Israeli raids and repeated attacks on occupied Palestinian cities, the latest of which were acts of aggression in Nablus earlier in the day, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Ministry Spokesman Sinan Majali denounced Israel's ongoing military campaigns and reaffirmed Jordan's position that such campaigns should be halted and that immediate action should be taken to reach de-escalation in order to avoid further deterioration and achieve calm. Majali warned of the consequences that such deterioration would have for all, according to a ministry statement.

The spokesperson said that Jordan is working intensively with partners to reach de-escalation, and stressed the need for “a real political ground” that would prevent the continuation of violence, halt the deterioration and lead to the resumption of negotiations in order to resolve the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution that results in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital on the pre- 1967 lines.
