Jordan denounces Israeli aggression in Jenin

AMMAN — Jordan denounced the recent Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the aggression seen in the city of Jenin, on Monday morning. 

A Foreign Ministry statement expressed concern over the persistent spiral of violence, cautioning that its consequences will be borne by all parties involved. 

Sinan Al Majali, the ministry's spokesperson, underscored the urgent need to halt the continuous incursions into Palestinian cities and ensure their protection against repeated assaults. 

He emphasised that the ongoing escalation is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and Israel's obligations as the occupying power. 

The spokesperson reiterated Jordan's unwavering stance against such acts of aggression and unilateral measures that undermine efforts to de-escalate tensions. 

Majali called upon the international community to “promptly and decisively” intervene to put an end to this hostile behaviour and provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people throughout all the occupied Palestinian territories.
