Citizens commend gov't swift action in response to Kingdom's airspace violation

AMMAN — In response to escalating regional conflict, Jordan acted swiftly on Tuesday following Iranian missiles directed towards Israel, prioritising national security and stability to safeguard citizens and maintain regional equilibrium, according to the public.

The Ministry of Interior said that: “Several pieces of debris fell in various regions, resulting in two minor injuries.”

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) reported that the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted and neutralised multiple drones and missiles over the Jordanian airspace.

The PSD also issued a statement urging Jordanians to follow official instructions and stay indoors, as it is the safest option during these emergency conditions.

Many Jordanians reflected on their personal experiences from Tuesday, praising the government’s efforts. 

Rabiha Yaseen, 20, who lives in the Marj Al Hamam area of Amman, described hearing loud noises that she initially mistook for construction work, saying: “What I saw was flashes in the sky, and people in the streets were recording the surroundings with their phones.” 

Raed Amer, 34, recounted how he rushed indoors, initially unsure of what was happening. “It wasn’t until I saw what was unfolding on the news that I realised the noise was coming from something unfamiliar,” he said.

“The sounds of missiles, often heard in news reports from conflict zones, had a profoundly unsettling impact on me,” Samah Mahmoud, in her twenties, told The Jordan Times.

Social media was abuzz with reactions, as many Jordanian users shared photos and short videos of missiles lighting up the sky over the Kingdom.
