Acting Senate president stresses Jordan’s support for Iraq

AMMAN — Acting Senate President Samir Rifai and First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Mohsen Al Mandalawi, discussed cooperation between the two countries in various fields, mainly at the political, economic and parliamentary levels.
Rifai stressed that the Kingdom stands with Iraq in meeting the aspirations of its people, noting that Jordan is keen on supporting the unity, security and stability of Iraq, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also referred to the importance of enhancing economic cooperation between Amman and Baghdad, building economic partnerships, increasing joint investments and stimulating commercial exchange between the two countries. Mandalawi expressed appreciation for Jordan’s supportive stances, stressing that the Kingdom has always been supportive to Iraq, a fact that is highly appreciated by the Iraqi people.
He added that Jordan's political situation, stability and security help it play an effective role in solving regional challenges, expressing aspiration for Amman to support Baghdad in various Arab and international parliamentary events.
