50th Congress of Jordan Society of Surgeons kicks off

AMMAN — The 50th Annual Congress of the Jordan Society of Surgeons (JSS) opened on Thursday under the slogan: “Towards Minimal Complications of Surgical Operations” and attracted a large regional and global turnout of 350 doctors and nurses.
In his opening remarks, Senate President Faisal Fayez emphasised the necessity of establishing specialised research centres to keep up with the sector’s advancements and noted that Jordan’s efficient health sector made it a destination for treatment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He urged the sector to form alliances with advanced international medical centres in order to continue providing high-quality services and positively influence medical tourism in Jordan.
According to JSS President Abdel Hadi Al Breizat, the three-day conference will provide education, training, consultation and legislation. He also said that the event includes two workshops on injuries, principles of conventional and laparoscopic surgery, 17 sessions for doctors, two sessions for nurses, 46 lectures and 23 research papers.
