10-year-old boy drowns in King Abdullah Canal

AMMAN — A 10-year-old boy died on Saturday after drowning in the King Abdullah Canal in the Northern Jordan Valley.
Civil Defence Department personnel transferred the boy to the hospital, where doctors tried performing CPR to save him. However, the boy was pronounced dead before his arrival at the hospital, Director of Abu Obeidah Al Jarrah Hospital, Muayyad Shukour, told the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The body has been transferred to the Northern Region Forensic Medicine Centre to officially determine the cause of death, Shukour said.
