AMMAN — Ministry of Water and Irrigation Secretary General Ali Suboh said that water desalination is the only safe and sustainable method to fulfil the Kingdom’s water needs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Suboh added that Red Sea water desalination is the only remaining option for the provision of water within Jordan.
He added that the most notable challenges facing Jordan’s water sector include a shortage of water sources, a sizeable gap in supply and demand, a wasteful usage of sources and increasing energy and operating costs, as well as climate change.
