‘Aqaba port working to facilitate arrival of goods, fuel derivatives to governorates’

AMMAN — The Kingdom’s strategic reserve of food and medicines is “very reassuring”, General Manager of Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management Mansour Qawqazeh said on Sunday, highlighting that Aqaba port is working to ease the flow of goods, fuel derivatives and food commodities into the Kingdom’s governorates. 

In a statement, the official said that two vessels loaded with 101,000 tonnes of wheat are scheduled to arrive in the Kingdom on Monday, noting that a vessel carrying 70,000 tonnes of corn has been unloaded, while a ship loaded with 29,000 tonnes of corn is undergoing official procedures, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Commenting on the availability of fuel derivatives and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Qawqazeh pointed out that 19,500 tonnes of LPGhave been unloaded, adding that a vessel loaded with 12,600 tonnes of LPG and one carrying 84,000 tonnes of crude oil are being unloaded.

Qawqazeh emphasised that the concerned bodies are processing customs-related transactions quickly to speed up the arrival of shipments to their destinations in the Kingdom.
