AMMAN — Experts at the World Cloud Show conference believe that digitalisation is key for the sustainability of businesses.

A virtual conference titled “World Cloud Show”, held on September 6, saw an explicit focus on the cloud and data centre technologies.

World Cloud Show is a leadership-driven, business-focused, global series of events, according to organisers.

In its 12th edition, the show saw the virtual participation of over 150 tech-decision makers, including key stakeholders in the cloud ecosystem. The conference was hosted by Trescon, a cloud industry solution provider, according to the organisers.

The conference focused on the potential of the cloud and the data centre ecosystem.

“Businesses that have not yet gone digital may not last much longer,” Mithun Shetty, CEO of Trescon said during the conference.

Shetty added that cloud has become an essential part of every organisation’s growth strategy.

“Virtualisation is the path that everyone, especially enterprises with both legacy and modern IT infrastructures, need to take. The last three years have crunched every budget and pushed every strategy to ensure the fast adoption of digitisation,” said Shetty.

The event featured collaboration between experts who led a detailed discussion titled “Leveraging Cloud Technology for Workplace Digital Transformation”.

“It’s not only about investing in infrastructure; it’s also about investing in people,” Santiago Bañales López, managing director, Iberdrola Innovation Middle East, said during the conference.

López added that across industries, building knowledge capital is essential in successfully participating in the global digital transformation.

“The cloud enables employees to improve customer experience (CX),” John Mankarios, cloud expert, said during the conference.

Mankarios added that cloud infrastructure helps employees gain access to real time measurement and analytics tools that they can use to make smarter decisions about CX.

“In this era of digitalisation, space and culture do not have the impact on the employees that technology does,” said Karthik Ananda Rao, Chief Technical Evangelist of Manage Engine.

The show featured keynotes, enterprise use-case presentations, panel discussions and “tech talks” that discussed the latest digital challenges and explored the latest applications of cloud-based solutions.
