AMMAN — Jordan has won the inaugural ‘Taekwondo Cares’ award presented at the World Taekwondo Gala Awards in Fujairah, UAE, on Saturday, according to the Jordan Olympic Committee News Service.

The Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation worked with the Jordan Taekwondo Federation (JTF) to provide opportunities for children living in the Azraq Syrian Refugee Camp in the Kingdom.

A delegation was present to receive the award, led by Hazim Al Naimat, deputy mayor of Amman and JTF board member, and Farah Al Asaad from the project.

On the same evening, Turkey’s İrem Yaman and South Korea’s Dae-hoon Lee were named the Female and Male Player of the Year.
