AMMAN — The Japan International Cooperation Agency, UNHCR and the National Electric Power Company on Tuesday held the closing ceremony for the electricity training programmes for Syrian refugees in Zaatari, a joint statement said.
Started in August 2016, the programme benefited 144 Syrians, who undertook courses designed to build their capacities to repair, maintain and manage electricity wiring to the shelters in the camp, with the ultimate aim to obtain skills and knowledge that they could utilise in the future.
In addition to the closing ceremony, donor and implementer bodies’ representatives attended the handing-over of in-kind tools, equipment and electrical devices to the UNHCR.
