World Water Day to be observed today

AMMAN — Jordan and the world at large will celebrate World Water Day, which is marked on March 22. The World Water Day is aimed to raise awareness of the global water crisis. Under the theme “valuing water”, World Water Day 2021 focuses on the sixth UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), namely water and sanitation for all by 2030.
In press remarks to the Jordan News agency, Petra, Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammad Najjar went over the water challenges facing the Kingdom, one of the poorest countries in water in the world, highlighting water sector’s efforts towards meeting citizens and refugees water needs.
Water security is the main pillar of stability, development and prosperity, he said, calling on all international parties to take unified stances towards supporting the sustainability of water sources.
