AMMAN — The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Labour Ministry held a workshop on Thursday on the IOM’s EU-funded regional project PAVE (Action to Protect and Assist Vulnerable Migrant Workers in the Middle East and North Africa).
At the opening ceremony, EU Ambassador to Amman Joanna Wronecka said Jordan is a transit country for women, men and children migrating from Southeast Asia and North Africa to look for jobs, noting that some of them face inhumane practices such as illegal passport confiscation, delays in salaries, and sexual and physical assaults.
