WHO grants Health Ministry medical equipment for COVID-19 response

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health on Wednesday received medical equipment and supplies provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to support the ministry’s efforts in containing and preventing the spread of COVID-19.
In a statement to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Director of the Ministry’s Supply and Procurement Directorate Maher Zyoud said that the equipment included 500,000 face masks, 10,000 medical protective garments, 10,000 disposable anti-virus face shields and 200 modern remote temperature testing kits, safety goggles and surgical gear.
He noted that this WHO assistance will enhance the readiness of medical personnel for dealing with the novel coronavirus within the procedures and protocols the ministry has taken in accordance with modern global health regulations.
