Water Ministry personnel remove violations on King Abdullah Canal

AMMAN — The Water Ministry’s Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) has detected several violations on the King Abdullah Canal in the Northern Ghor area, where stolen water was used to irrigate agricultural units.
The violations included installing plastic hoses with five-15 centimetre diametre and water pumps to draw water illegaly, JVA said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra on Saturday.
After investigations, a joint security task force raided the suspected locations and removed the violations. Suspects have been referred to the attorney general office to proceed with the necessary legal action.
