Water Ministry, French Water Academy sign training agreement

AMMAN —The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority of Jordan on Monday signed an agreement with the French Water Academy to train its staff at the Authority's training centre.
The training will focus on operations, maintenance, and management of water and wastewater treatment plants, capacity building, and public safety, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The authority's Secretary General Wael Dwairi stressed that the cooperation between Jordan and France in the water sector is a successful model for addressing various challenges, especially in light of the French investment in the sector, which exceeds $300 million.
French Ambassador to Jordan Alexis Le Cour Grandmaison expressed his country's commitment to support Jordan in addressing its water challenges, stressing the importance of capacity building, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
This programme aims to develop the skills and knowledge of water sector employees and facilitate the exchange of expertise the envoy said.
He added that the advanced digital training platform would open new horizons for the training of technical and professional staff in the region.
He expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, noting that the French agency devotes 50 per cent of its support to this strategic sector, and highlighted the importance of Jordan's national carrier project.
