Water Authority chief, Spanish ambassador discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) Secretary General Bashar Bataineh and Spanish Ambassador to Jordan Miguel de Lucas on Sunday discussed means to enhance cooperation, mainly in the field of implementing new water projects, administrating water resources and governance.
The two sides also discussed the Spanish contribution to the national water carrier project and securing the necessary funds to a project to provide Karak with water through replacing old carriers and main pipes to increase the efficiency of water provision in various areas in the governorate, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ambassador expressed his country's interest in enhancing the Spanish-Jordanian partnership to develop the water sector in the Kingdom and offering more assistance through contributing to the national water carrier project and the Karak project, as well as developing the water systems.
