Video showing teacher scolding student to be investigated

AMMAN — Education Ministry Spokesperson Walid Jallad said that the ministry is investigating an incident captured on a video that went viral, showing a student being "improperly and unacceptably rebuked" by a teacher during a class.
Jallad stressed in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Thursday that the ministry will take every appropriate measure to identify the people involved in the incident, reiterating the ministry's rejection of all forms of scolding against students.
He affirmed the ministry's keenness on preserving the students' dignity and their right to appropriate educational opportunities in a healthy environment, stressing the ministry's intent to preserve the teachers' prestige and dignity and upholding their noble role in society.
