AMMAN — The UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities, Gerard Quinn, on Thursday visited the Hospital of the National Centre of Psychiatry to get a first-hand look at the level of services provided to resident patients and visitors.
Quinn was accompanied by Hospital Director Khalid Hadidi on a tour of the hospital.
Hadidi told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the facility offers psychiatry services in its 52 clinics spread across the Kingdom.
Hadidi added that the national centre was opened in 1987, and includes nine sections — five for men and four for women — with a capacity of 163 beds, and an average annual occupancy rate of 70 per cent.
