AMMAN — The State Security Court on Tuesday sentenced two people convicted of drug dealing to 15 years in prison with hard labour and fined them with JD10,000, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The pair were convicted of planting marijuana seedlings in the south of Jordan with intent of drug trade, according to Petra. The court acquitted two other suspects.
According to Petra, the Anti-Narcotics Department agents received a tip-off about the defendants in March 2016, and the personnel conducted a search, seizing around 42kg of marijuana in their farm.
