AMMAN — The State Security Court (SSC) on Monday imposed a three-year prison sentence on Rami Saqer and Ihab Saadi after convicting them of terror charges.
Saqer was found guilty of plotting actions that could endanger the Kingdom’s security and affect its relations with foreign countries, while Saadi was convicted of joining terrorist groups outside the Kingdom.
In another case, Syrian defendant Ibrahim pleaded guilty to charges of joining fighting groups in Syria.
He said the second defendant in the case, a Syrian named Omar who pleaded not guilty, contacted him and the two came to Jordan with plans to kidnap a US citizen who provides assistance for Syrian refugees in Zarqa and demand a ransom.
