AMMAN — The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has donated an array of medical supplies to UNRWA Amman North Camp Health Centre, which benefits Palestinian refugees living in surrounding areas, an UNRWA statement said on Saturday.

During the ceremony, which was attended by community members at the health centre, TIKA's President Serdar Çam emphasised that access to quality essential healthcare is among TIKA's priorities and expressed his appreciation to  UNRWA and the Director of the Operations in Jordan Roger Davies for their important contribution in supporting Palestinian refugees.

Thanking TIKA, Davies said in the statement: “The donation comes in a challenging time for UNRWA and the Palestine refugees, it is a key step that complements the agency’s efforts of the Dignity is Priceless campaign, and sustains the continued partnership we have.”

He also elaborated on future cooperation plans with TIKA, saying: “We have discussed possible future support and cooperation for educational and health programmes in Jordan, which were mapped out within the upcoming few months.”

An international development agency established in 1992 under the Turkish Prime Ministry, TIKA focuses on development collaboration in 140 countries around the world, the statement said, noting that the Amman office was officially opened in 2016.
