TRC ‘following up on maintenance work for submarine Flag Cable’

AMMAN — The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) on Sunday said that there was a technical malfunction in the main submarine Flag Cable for GCX Global Cloud Exchange that supplies the international communication and Internet services for the Kingdom.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, TRC Chief Commissioner Ghazi Jbour said that the cable’s shutdown had partial effect on the Internet services in the Kingdom and other countries connected to the submarine Flag Cable.
Jbour added that the TRC was studying the options to ensure consistent supply of the service, indicating that there would be some problems in data traffic management in some directions.
