Tourist visits up during Eid Al Adha — ministry

AMMAN — Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Annab said on Tuesday that the performance indicators for the tourism sector during the Eid Al Adha holiday showed a rise in the number of visitors from Arab countries by 6 per cent compared to 2017.
The number of Arab visitors reached about 80,000, while the number of foreign visitors reached about 33,000, and the number of Jordanians living abroad who spent the Eid holiday in the Kingdom reached about 95,000, constituting a rise of 13 per cent.
Annab said the ministry and its partners in the tourism sector are keen to maintain the Kingdom at the forefront of tourist destinations.
Annab also stressed that domestic tourism saw a recovery during the eid holiday. Both Aqaba and Petra, witnessed active tourist visits according to statistics issued by authorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
