Tourism minister visits Petra

AMMAN — Minister of Tourism Nayef Al Fayez on Tuesday visited Petra district, during which he met with Chief Commissioner of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Suleiman Farajat over means to further cooperation and improve services.
During his meeting with representatives of the tourism sector in Petra district, Fayez said that His Majesty King Abdullah pays great attention to the Kingdom’s tourism sector, mainly Petra district, as the King had directed the government to come up with creative solutions to alleviate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the sector.
Sector representatives put forward a number of proposals to address the impact of the coronavirus crisis, noting that the owners of tourist institutions and workers have sustained tremendous losses, according to a PDTRA statement.
