Tourism income sees considerable recovery in February — CBJ

AMMAN — The latest data from the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) shows a growth of 8.9 per cent in tourism income during February 2024 compared with the same month in 2023.
According to CBJ data, income generated from tourism reached $549.6 million last month.
The Kingdom managed to surpass the repercussions of the Gaza war on the tourism sector by achieving an increase in tourism income compared to the same period last year, CBJ said according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
During the first two months of 2024, tourism income increased by 4.5 per cent, amounting to $1.1 billion, the bank said.
Tourism income is considered one of the main pillars fueling the Kingdom's foreign reserves, besides remittances, foreign investments, and national exports.
