Three pesticide testing laboratories worth JD1 million opened

AMMAN — The Ministry of Agriculture on Wednesday inaugurated three pesticide testing laboratories worth JD1 million to facilitate exporting and importing at border crossings, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

In a statement, the ministry said that this step is part of a plan for protecting the safety of exported and imported food items and maintaining the reputation of Jordanian exports.

The facility, implemented in cooperation with the Canadian grant project, consists of fodder and pesticide residues laboratories and a building of at the Omari border crossing with Saudi Arabia.

This project also includes an agreement with the Royal Scientific Society to use its laboratories and modernise the ministry’s laboratories.
