Ten cultural centres closed for violations

AMMAN — The Private Education Department at the Education Ministry on Wednesday closed 10 cultural centres for failing to rectify their conditions, according to Fareed Khateeb, the department’s director.
The department issued warnings to another 100 centres for violating regulations that ban them from giving intensive courses based on the ministry’s curricula.

Education Minister Mohammad Thneibat said on Tuesday that the Education Law does not allow cultural centres to teach the ministry’s curriculum or to give intensive courses based on official textbooks.
