AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh on Friday attended the departure of pilgrims travelling under a Royal initiative, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The Royal Benefaction (makruma) is designated to the “children of martyrs and injured servicemen”.

Tarawneh conveyed the King’s greetings to pilgrims and his wishes for a trouble-free pilgrimage. The greater Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca starts on Dhul Hijja 8 according to the Islamic lunar calendar, which coincides this year with September 10.
