AMMAN — Personnel at the Northern Region Preventive Security Department have foiled a fraud attempt and detained two suspects in Jerash, the Public Security Department’s (PSD) media centre said Wednesday.
The suspects reportedly attempted to sell someone $4,300 (around JD3,049) for JD200,000, by convincing the victim that the rate is less than the market’s.
The US dollars were packed in stacks, each of which had two $100 bills at the top and bottom while the rest were white paper, according to the PSD.
The two men were caught before selling the money to the victim.
