SSC issues prison, hard labour sentences to defendants in multiple terrorism cases

AMMAN — The State Security Court (SCC) on Wednesday issued sentences in several terrorism cases, ranging between three and 15 years of imprisonment, with at least some entailing temporary hard labour.
Two suspects were sentenced to 15 years with temporary hard labour for planning to carry out a terror act at the behest of Daesh and kidnapping a General Intelligence Department (GID) officer and killing him on camera, as well as kidnapping an SCC judge and targeting GID offices in Ruseifa, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In another case, the SSC sentenced a suspect to 10 years with temporary hard labour for contacting a Daesh member online, who asked him to execute military operations in Jordan.
Separately, three suspects, who are at large, received 15-year imprisonment terms, while another was sentenced to five years in jail.
