AMMAN — Members of the Senate’s Jordanian-Chinese Friendship Committee and Chinese Ambassador Chen Chuandong on Wednesday discussed means to enhance cooperation in various fields.

Senator Issa Murad, head of the committee, said that His Majesty King Abdullah played a big role in enhancing ties between the countries through the exchange of visits that contributed to boosting relations at the social, educational and economic levels, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Murad noted that Jordan covers 20 per cent of its needs from the Chinese market despite challenges facing marine freight, stressing the need to expand joint ventures in the Kingdom to create jobs for Jordanians.

The ambassador stressed that Jordan enjoys a strategic location that makes it a hub for Europe, Africa and other Asian countries. He added that the Kingdom is also a safe destination amid a turbulent region, which makes it a good destination for Chinese investors.
