Senate committee discusses current developments

AMMAN — Members of the Senate Arab, International and Expatriates’ Affairs Committee expressed their relief on Tuesday over the government’s measures to maintain the security and stability of the Kingdom.
At a meeting chaired by Senator Samir Rifai, the senators expressed their pride in the efforts of the Jordan Armed Forces and security bodies and their role in defending the country.

The Senate Arab, International and Expatriates’ Affairs Committee on Tuesday received a delegation from the US National War College, which is currently visiting the Kingdom.
His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday met a delegation from the US House of Representatives’ subcommittee on defence (appropriations committee) and discussed means to foster bilateral ties.
The Lower House said on Monday it will hold a special, unofficial meeting on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.
