AMMAN — The Senate’s Finance and Economy Committee on Thursday met with Martin Cerisola, head of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) mission to Jordan, and checked on the latest follow ups by the mission to the three-year financial reform programme with Jordan, which concludes in 2019.

Committee Rapporteur Umayya Toukan said that addressing the Kingdom’s economic challenges tops the financial reform programme with the IMF, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The meeting went over top aspects of the income tax draft law and how it may affect the national economy and social fields. Cerisola presented a briefing on the IMF’s view on the Jordanian procedures aimed at moving forward with the reform programme.
