Safadi receives phone calls from top EU official, Italian FM

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi received phone calls on Monday from High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union Josep Borrell and Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.The phone calls were part of ongoing consultation and coordination efforts to intensify actions for ending the war in Gaza, ensuring the protection of civilians, adhering to international law and international humanitarian law and delivering urgent humanitarian aid to the sector. In the phone calls, Safadi stressed the urgent need for an immediate halt to the escalating war in Gaza and the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing, warning of its serious repercussions on the security of the entire region. Safadi emphasised that every day passes without realising de-escalation, bringing the war and humanitarian crisis to an immediate halt will have a high price that innocent people will pay for.
