Safadi meets US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Assistance Coordination

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Assistance Coordination and Press and Public Diplomacy at the State Department’s Bureau for Near Eastern Affairs Chris Hodges.
The meeting focused on the new memorandum of understanding intended to be signed between the countries, which frames US support for the Kingdom, replacing the current memorandum, which expires at the end of this September, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
Safadi stressed the strength of the partnership between the countries, extending appreciation towards the US support for the Kingdom, and highlighting its importance in helping Jordan continue its developmental journey and confront economic and security challenges.
Hodges affirmed that Jordan is a strategic partner of the US, stressing the depth of bilateral relations and cooperation. He said the US continued support to the Kingdom, praising Jordan's efforts in achieving regional security and stability.
