Safadi affirms Kingdom's rejection of any aggression against Lebanon

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi held a phone call on Tuesday with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib.
During the call, Safadi affirmed Jordan's solidarity with Lebanon and its commitment to the security and safety of its citizens and institutions, as well as Jordan's rejection of any aggression against Lebanon and its sovereignty.
Safadi warned of the serious consequences of any Israeli escalation against Lebanon on the security and stability of the region, stressing the need for collective efforts to de-escalate and protect the region from the danger of moving toward a regional war.
Safadi also emphasised the importance of adhering to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
The minister also highlighted that the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza poses a risk of expanding the conflict to the entire region.
He also underscored the necessity of launching an effective international movement to stop the aggression and compel Israel to respect international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
For his part, Bou Habib expressed his country's appreciation for Jordan's historical stances in supporting Lebanon, its security, and its stability.
