AMMAN — The 8th edition of the Rum International Marathon will begin on October 22, Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Nayef Bakhit announced on Tuesday.
In a press conference, Bakhit said that launching the marathon at this time is “a message that Jordanian tourism, notably in the Golden Triangle — Wadi Rum, Petra and Aqaba — has returned to normality”, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Organised by Unlimited Distances, the marathon will witness the participation of 84 runners from Arab and foreign countries, Bakhit said, noting that the event is a new addition to the artistic, heritage and tourism activities that began in Aqaba.
