Regional conference on tourism to open in Petra

AMMAN — A regional conference on challenges and opportunities in the tourism sector will open in Petra on Thursday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.
The conference is organised by the Tourism Ministry in cooperation with the World Tourism Organisation and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Tourism Minister Lina Annab highlighted the importance of the conference in light of the challenges facing the tourism industry.
The goal is to provide a platform for the concerned authorities from across the region to discuss the issues with each other, Annab said. Some 30 representatives of countries south and east of the Mediterranean will take part in the conference, according to Petra.
