Razzaz discusses need of economic bloc with Egyptian, Iraqi officials

AMMAN —  Prime Minister Omar Razzaz praised the strong relations between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq, and affirmed a willingness to develop them in various fields, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The prime minister also stressed the need to build an economic bloc based on integration between the three countries.

Razzaz made the remarks during a meeting with Egyptian Transport Minister Hisham Arafat and Iraqi Transport Minister Kazem Finjan in the presence of Jordanian Minister of Transport Walid Masri. All three participated in the general assembly meeting of the Arab Bridge Maritime Company (ABMC).

Razzaz also said there was a need to reduce the cost of transport in the region, pointing to the importance of ABMC's plan to increase truck-based transport to enhance trade between the three countries.

The prime minister also praised the idea of establishing a railway project between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, saying that this project would contribute to cooperation between the three countries.
