AMMAN — Her Majesty Queen Rania visited the Twelve Degrees Design and Innovation Studio in Abdali Boulevard on Tuesday, where she met with its team and took a look at its award-winning product designs.
Her Majesty was welcomed at Twelve Degrees by its Founder and Design Director Sahar Madanat before joining a group of the studio’s multidisciplinary engineers and designers, who briefed her on their ongoing projects and future plans, according to a statement from Her Majesty’s Office.
A multifaceted Jordanian design and innovation studio, Twelve Degrees specialises in product design, user research, and user experience. Its team works independently and alongside clients to create products that meet a specific need, such as tableware designed for people with physical disabilities, a wearable smart flashlight, and sustainable furniture made from local agricultural waste.
During the meeting, the Twelve Degrees team explained their scientific approach to the different stages of product innovation, from market research and concept generation to design development, testing, and prototyping. The studio also offers training workshops, user research, and design communication services.
Her Majesty also toured the Twelve Degrees workshop and viewed a number of the studio’s internationally recognised products. She also spoke with a group of Twelve Degrees’ clients and trainees about projects currently being incubated and developed by the studio.
Founded in 2013, Twelve Degrees has won over 30 international awards to date, including the German Red Dot Award, the Australian Good Design Award, and the US-based International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) and Spark Design Awards.
