AMMAN — Minister of Public Works and Housing  Maher Abu Al Sammen on Tuesday met with a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), to discuss enhancing partnership in infrastructure and construction projects.

Abu Al Sammen outlined the ministry’s strategic priorities and key projects in roads and lighting. He also sought technical assistance from the bank in developing building codes, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The minister also commended the distinguished relationship with the European bank, emphasising its significant role as one of Jordan's key partners in developmental domains.

The bank delegation presented an overview of their investment portfolio in Jordan since 2012, which amounted to around 2 billion euros for 72 projects, mostly in the private sector.

The bank also funded sustainable infrastructure projects in collaboration with the Greater Amman Municipality and the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, covering sectors such as solid waste, transportation, water, and energy, Petra reported.

The EBRD is a multilateral development bank that was founded in 1991 to facilitate countries in Central and Eastern Europe's transition to market economies.
