AMMAN – Social Development Minister Khawla Armouti on Saturday stressed the importance of fighting begging through intensified campaigns across the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Armouti said fraud is criminalised by law, urging the public not to give money to any individual or unauthorised institution but to report them via the hotline 0798518274.
The ministry launched a campaign at the beginning of Ramadan targeting panhandlers with the cooperation of the Public Security Department, the Greater Amman Municipality and the Awqaf Ministry.
