PSD, EU launch twinning border project

AMMAN — The Public Security Department (PSD) on Tuesday celebrated the launch of a Jordanian-EU twinning project on border security, in cooperation with Lithuania and with support by the EU.
Acting PSD Director Maj. Gen. Dawood Hakouz said that the department always seeks to create partnerships with international bodies to improve its security and the quality of services delivered to all, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
EU Ambassador to Jordan Andrea Matteo Fontana said that good control of the borders has become a necessity for the good administration of individuals’ movement, which cannot be achieved without a comprehensive risk evaluation and strategic planning, as well as proper training of border employees.
